Whether it’s a new idea you’ve had or it’s something you’ve been thinking about for a long time, how do you know when’s the best time to buy a holiday home?
There’s a strong argument to be made for purchasing a holiday home during the autumn/winter season. Here are just a few reasons why:
As you’d expect, holiday parks are at their busiest during the summer months as people love to take advantage of the longer and warmer days. You’ll no doubt want to spend a great deal of time at your holiday home during the summer season but it can be quite nice and refreshing to get acquainted with your new holiday home during the quieter, colder months. The peace and serenity can help you get settled in, get used to your new surroundings and acclimatise to the environment.
If you plan on using your holiday home for summer holidays, you may want to ensure you’ve got everything ready beforehand. Is there any decorating to be done? Outside maintenance? By buying your holiday home during the autumn/winter season you can make sure everything you need to get done is completed before the summer season begins! Then all you have to do is pack a bag, load up the car and set off for your new home.
Surveys suggest that 38% of static caravan and holiday lodge owners would like to escape to their static caravan or lodge during the winter months – and we don’t blame them! Snuggling up during the colder months with your family (and your dog?) in your new cosy holiday home is such a lovely way to spend winter. Who says holiday homes are just for the summer? Certainly not us. So there’s no need to wait until the weather gets warmer to think about purchasing a holiday home.
At the end of the day, there’s no perfect time to purchase a holiday home. You might spend years waiting for the 'right time' to buy, and then realise you've missed the boat. Life is short, so follow your heart and see where it takes you!
