1. Botanical gardens

If you’re a nature lover, there’s no better place to relax and unwind in Belfast than the Botanical gardens. Near Queen's University, these gardens can be found right outside of the city centre. Residents, students, and tourists enjoy Belfast's gardens, which are an important part of the city's Victorian heritage.

The Belfast Botanic and Horticultural Society established the gardens in 1828 because of the growing public interest in horticulture and botany. In its heyday, the Belfast Botanic Garden was home to exotic tree species and impressive collections of plants from the southern hemisphere that are still on display.

2. C.S Lewis Square

Explore C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia through an interactive walk-through. The C.S. Lewis Square is a public space commemorating the Belfast-born author.

Several bronze sculptures from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe can be found in the square, including Aslan, the White Witch, and Mr Tumnus. CS Lewis Square is situated in East Belfast next to the Eastside Visitor Centre and you can visit it 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Though Belfast is often associated with political murals in areas outside the city centre, there are dozens of incredible examples of non-political street art in the heart of the city as well. This is truly one of the top things to see in Belfast. Belfast has become famous for its walls, just as Berlin is, and street artists have flourished on these walls.

4. Cathedral quarter

The Cathedral Quarter in Belfast is an excellent place to spend the night, and it has all the ingredients for an exciting night out. In the centre of Belfast, there is a district named after the cathedral, which has become a hub for the finest restaurants and bars in the city.

5. Belfast Castle

The Titanic sank on its maiden voyage - the famous ship that was known around the world for its tragic history. The world's largest Titanic visitor experience is located in Belfast, where the legendary vessel was built!

9. St. George’s market

The last-surviving Victorian covered market in Belfast is found near the River Lagan at St. George's Market.
