Walking Northern Ireland? 4 reasons a luxury static caravan is the best way to see the coast

17 May 2021

Nothing beats the feeling of a fresh, salty sea breeze on your face.

The sound of gulls and the swell of the sea make you feel truly at peace.

As you walk along the coastal trail you feel energised and content, the weather is calm and the sun is out. “We were right to do a walking holiday this year'' you tell your partner.

The kids are loving exploring the coves on the beach, you’re getting a lot of exercise and back to nature.

And the best part is: when you’re done walking for the day you can go back to your
luxury static caravan. No tents for you. You can grab a hot shower, cook a proper meal and relax with a book or in front of the TV.

Planning your walking holiday with a luxury static caravan as your base of operations is the best way to see the coast. A proper roof over your head lets you recharge every evening and gives you more energy for longer walks in the day.

But that’s just one of the many benefits to using a caravan to explore the coast. We’ve listed some others below.

Don’t worry about the rain

UK weather can be temperamental at the best of times. At the high of summer some areas of the UK can see 4 seasons in one day. And whilst this is part of the fun of walking in Northern Ireland that fun can wear a bit thin if you’ve got lashing rain battering your tent at 4am.

Choosing to stay in a luxury static caravan for your walking holiday means you don’t need to worry about getting woken up by a dripping ceiling in the middle of the night.

There’s nothing worse than not being able to get dry and a constant drizzle could spoil your whole trip. It’s better to play it safe and stay in a caravan to avoid any soggy nights of no sleep.

Food is fuel and you’re going to want a hot meal

Modern static caravans come with an array of features and amenities that can rival even a professional kitchen. Microwaves, ovens, hobs, you name it. If you’ve got a packed schedule of hill walks and long coastal routes you’re going to want to make sure you’re properly fed

If you’re camping, boil in the bag packets would cut it but why settle for that when you can use the kitchen in your luxury static caravan to cook up a feast. Piping hot food is just what you need after a long day on the trail and you can eat comfortably with a roof over your head on a real dining table.

A family holiday out a tent is more trouble than it's worth

If you’re bringing the little ones along for your walking holiday a luxury static caravan gives them, and you, the space to unwind after a day walking the beaches.

Tents, even the bigger ones, don’t have much personal space. As nice as it is to spend time with your loved ones you want some alone time on your holiday too.

You get to enjoy all the mod-cons on your day off the trail

They’re called luxury static caravans for a reason. There’s an element of luxury to them! Whether it’s a big TV or a lot of space for family activities, you can really relax when you’re not out walking the trails.

Walking Northern Ireland

If you’re a keen walker, you’d be hard pressed to find better coastal trails than the ones in Northern Ireland.
