Buying a holiday home in Northern Ireland vs abroad

24 December 2020

Purchasing your first holiday home is so exciting but it can also be quite scary! And there are a lot of factors to consider before you take the plunge. One of the most important decisions you’ll make when buying your holiday home is location. We have numerous holiday parks across Northern Ireland so of course we’re advocates of the staycation! But don’t just take our word for it, here’s a few reasons why you should buy a holiday home in Northern Ireland rather than purchasing abroad.

The beauty of Northern Ireland

With rugged cliffs, beautiful coasts and beaches, and stunning greenery, Northern Ireland really is one of the most beautiful places to visit. We often forget that we don’t need to travel that far to encounter natural beauty. And with such different landscapes, whatever you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it in Northern Ireland.

Currency

One of the things I hate most about going on holiday is getting your money changed into the right currency. There’s always a million and one things to do before you set off and changing your currency always seems like the last thing on your list. You can avoid all of that when purchasing your holiday home in Northern Ireland, and you can enjoy no extra bank charges when using a debit card!

Shorter travel time

Travelling abroad can be pretty stressful at times and leaves you exhausted. Sometimes it takes you a day or two to feel like your old self and by then you’re part way through your holiday! One of the major benefits of buying a holiday home in Northern Ireland is a shorter travel time and no jet lag!

Brexit

The dreaded B word! With talks of a deal dragging on, everything is still up in the air with the EU. Who knows what the regulations will be in terms of buying a holiday home in Spain, France or Italy? Buying a home here in the UK gives you complete peace of mind!

Take your pet

One of the saddest things about going abroad is having to leave your beloved pet behind. Finding someone to look after your pet can be tricky and many animals don’t like being left in kennels - not to mention it’s expensive! By buying a holiday home in Northern Ireland you can take your pet with you and have a lovely family holiday together.

Go on holiday whenever you fancy

Planning a holiday abroad means checking flight times and prices, trying to avoid the price hikes of the summer holidays and being tied into set holiday durations such as 7 days or a fortnight. Owning your own holiday home in Northern Ireland means you don’t have to worry about any of that and can go on holiday whenever you like, for as long as you want! You can also pack as much as you like…
